*Progressive muscle relaxation is simple, easily learned, and widely used. It is a great technique to release tightness in your muscles. Practice makes you an expert in recognizing tension in your body by raising your awareness. You can choose to relax the muscles instantly, and thereby reduce anxiety and stress symptoms. PMR is found to be effective against ulcers, insomnia and hypertension.

The basic procedure may take a few attempts to get used to but once it is mastered the muscles can be relaxed more rapidly providing an ideal basis for other relaxation techniques such as autogenic training, visualization or self-hypnosis as provided in the other relaxation CDs. Hence, it is recommended that you start with Progressive Muscle Relaxation and practice it for a week or two.

*Autogenic training has been supported by extensive clinical research to have significant positive effects on several body functions listed below; practice of sessions lasts around 15 minutes. Autogenic training may seem easier to do after you have developed the awareness and good communication between your body and mind with the practice of PMR. You do not have to do both sessions.
