I feel so blessed to be in touch with your teachings.

I look forward to the next 5 sessions in Stockton.

I love your web site; and your gentle way of guiding others.

I wish to share a bit about where I am today; in doing so I hope that you will offer suggestions for me to move forward.

On October 9, 1985 I joined A.A.; began my current 25 Yr path to sober living on a spiritual plane.

The past 5 years have taught me about suffering and pain.

In 2003 my wife of 23 years developed an auto-immune disease (scleroderma); it is chronic and incurable. She is forced to take huge doses of pain killing drugs; and is not herself most of the time.

In 2006 our financial world collapsed; and we lost our business and our home. She filed for divorce; and we are no longer married.

This left me feeling like a failure in every area of life; I acted out with over working; sleeping medication; lack of eating; excessive television watching and isolation.

Over the past 2 Months I have refocused my being on spiritual growth; attend many AA meetings; help others; be of service and am learning to love myself again.

My search has brought me to incorporating Zen teachings with 12 Step (AA); teachings. A great book; the 12 Step Buddhist, is a great resource.

And now I have found your teachings; what serendipity!

      Hello KVM,
How true is the saying –
“When the student is ready, the teacher appears”

There are no accidents. When you are ready the universe opens the doors for you; gets you all that you need to get to where and what you want to be. We are all part of this amazing network and connect with each other based on our vibrational level.

You are the creator of your life. When you release the victim role, you get to access your power. I am so glad that you chose to take charge again. That choice is the critical one. You are a winner for making that. Congratulations!

The huge stressors life threw at you were not able to keep you down forever. Your spirit is too strong. You are now recognizing the strengths in you that you never even knew that you had. You are actually connecting to the core of your being, your spirit that drives everything else anyway.

It is a blessing to have you in the class. Thank you so much for the energy and love you bring to our community.

I greatly enjoy and appreciate your comments both after class and on the website.

Thank you so much for sharing insight and wisdom that can change one’s life. During the first class, you stepped us through identifying feelings and where they are felt in the body. I was following along just fine until I could not find peace. It is no where to be found. I went home and paid closer attention to my feeling and peace is missing for me. Is normal? What can I do about this?

      Dear Ria,
First of all, I am glad that you have access to a lot of other feelings. When we do not experience these feelings, we feel depressed. Depression is not so much of sadness but actually not having much of the emotional rainbow.

Second, You are very perceptive in recognizing that peace is missing or that you could not find it. When we know what we want, we can eventually get to it. Most of the time the problem is not knowing what we want.

Third, I am happy to reassure you that peace is our essential nature and you can have it. Remember, all this childhood conditioning comes in the way of us experiencing and being our authentic self.

I want to give you an analogy to make this more clear. The sun is always there during the day but we can’t see him when the clouds come in the way, right? Similarly, peace and love is what we get after we clear up all the cloud of the ego made suffering.

Is this normal? What a great question. It is normal in that most of us experience this. Most of us have allergies or back pain. Is it normal? We learn to live with it until we know better. Yes, we can get back to our natural good health.

The more loving awareness we develop with our mindfulness practices, the more closer we get to our true self. I encourage you to be patient and stick to your practice. We will look at this more closely in the next class.
